Singapore Trip 3rd & Last Day (3/10/08-4/10/08)

Woke up around 645am. Mother in law wanted to try dimsum at Chin Swee's Red Star Restaurant. Recommended by 3rd uncle and one of the taxi driver. Claimed to serve the best dimsum in Singapore.
The restaurant is located at 7th floor of a flat at Chin Swee. It opens at 7am. At 7.30am, the place is quite empty. The waitress told us that the place will be packed after 8am. We ordered har-gao, cha-siew pao, porridge, siew mai, sin cuk guen and big pao nearly the size of Yip Chi Mei dai bao. Not so nice only, except the porridge. SS2 and KL have nicer dimsum. Or maybe we are not used to the flavour & taste.
Wow, Red Star Restaurant is rated Top 4 Delicious Food in Singapore.
Entrance of Red Star Restaurant
With mother in law.
After breakfast, we headed back to our hotel. Still early. This is our room, no. 2737.
Our first stop is Ngee Ann City. Father in law wanted to shop for 2nd brother also. He bought some shirts and shoes for 2nd bro. At 12pm, father in law went back to hotel. Aunty Mary took them out for lunch. We did not follow as we felt we did not have enough time to shop. Haha..
Orchard Road. Even though the sun was bright, the big and shady trees covered the street and felt cooler.
We headed to Wisma Atria. Heard that the food court has got nice food. The food court is called Food Republic. I ordered Dao Siao Mien. The chef held a chunk of flour and sliced the flour into long strips. That's where this noodle got its name. Looks tasty but it was just the opposite. :( Should have ordered from another stall selling prawn noodle which is famous but long queue. I was too hungry already.
Our dessert, ais kacang. Quite nice but abit too sweet for my liking.
Candid shot. Dear had finished his food haha. Can you see the queue behind me? Those people were queuing up for the prawn mee.
After lunch, we continued shopping in Wisma Atria. Father in law later told me that last time there used to be a big aquarium at the basement. Later it was converted into shops.

Eeeee???? Why so many people here? Must go in and see what's so special. So crowded but the sales girls are so helpful and nice. I bought 3 pairs of heels. Haha...Discount up to 50%.
Kate Moss loves Top Shop and so do I. I just love this apple shirt that i must have it!
Forever 21.
Couple towels. Dear bought these. So sweet...
Met up with my university friends. So happy. We had dinner at Swensen, just opposite my hotel. We chatted and chatted like old times.
As it was already 9pm, dear excused himself to buy Ralph Lauren polo shirt. Luckily he left early coz the shop was about to close.Blue polo shirt - Out of stock in KL. Dear was so excited to spot this in Singapore.

After everyone had left, we went back to our hotel. Was really tired. Had to pack our things and zzzzzzzzz...

The next morning, we woke up around 645am and walked to McDonald's (again!) for breakfast. We checked out at 9am and took a cab to the airport.
Bye bye Singapore.............

Singapore Trip 2nd Day (2/10/08)

We woke up around 630am and felt hungry. Oh, our morning paper.
We walked to McDonald's which is open 24hours at Lucky Plaza. This is McCafe counter selling coffee and cakes.
I had McGriddles which is similar to Sausage McMuffin except for the bun. The bun is sweet like pancakes. Dear had his favourite big breakfast.
Around 9am, 2nd bro and 4th Uncle came to our hotel and had breakfast with us at Chatterbox. Was buffet breakfast but i only ate 1 bowl of cereal milk and some fruits as I was already full.
Introducing my father in law (front-left), 2nd bro (behind-left), 4th uncle (front-right) and mother in law (behind-right).

While I was busy chatting with my friends over the phone about our plans to meet up, dear was taking all these pictures from the restaurant. The restaurant has great views from the top and from this picture, is the top view of the other block of Meritus Mandarin, where we stayed.
Another picture taken from the top. Here you can see Ngee Ann City (brown building) and behind it is Wisma Atria.
Our hotel is just next to Ngee Ann City..So convenient for shoppers like me lol..

Around 12pm, we were ready to go out. Our first stop was Sim Lim at Bugis. Dear wanted to get booster pack for Eye Of Judgment (ps3 game) which he couldn't find in KL. Anyway we couldn't find it there also, and dear was so disappointed. We went to OG to shop and bought Levi Strauss jeans and top. I also bought a bright red Guess bag. After lunch, we took a cab back to Orchard.
We continued our shopping spree in Orchard Rd. Our next destination was Tangs. I bought these sandals/shoes for a good deal.
Dear bought these PS3 games at Lucky Plaza. But we still could not find the booster pack. We decided to buy some clothes for 2nd bro's kids so we went back to Ngee Ann City.

Aren't these clothes cute? Hope they all like it. We quickly headed back to the hotel to rest. Parents in law went to 2nd bro's house and had dinner with them. While dear and I waited for Queenie for dinner together.

Had dinner with Queenie at Soup Restaurant, Paragon. Initially we wanted to try Ding Tai Fong but because of the long queue, we decided to try Soup Restaurant instead. It is beside Ding Tai Fong and Queenie told us that the food is good also.
This is their famous dish, samsui chicken. Yum Yummmmm...........Wrap the chicken inside the vege (sang-choy) and dip it with the ginger. Wah.......finger licking good.
Kangkong and peanuts. All these are tasty also.
Delicious tofu and salted fish pork. So delicious, we finished all the food haha. Such a satisfying meal......
Around 9pm, after Queenie left, my best friend since Primary School, Phyllis came to meet me at my hotel. So happy to see her. Haven't seen her for ages. We chatted in our room while dear dear was sleeping on the bed. Haha...
Phyllis took this picture for us. Had to wake dear dear up haha.. Poor poor dear, his eyes were so sleepy..Phyllis left the hotel around 1130pm. Time for zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..................

Singapore Trip 1st Day (1/10/08)

I went to Singapore for 4 days during this Raya Holidays with my hubby and in-laws. We boarded Air Asia and the flight only took us less than an hour. We reached Changi Airport around 11am.
On our way to collect our luggage. We brought 4 luggage bags, of which 2 bags are actually gifts for dear's 2nd brother, who stays in Singapore.
2nd brother and family were waiting for us at the airport. We took a cab to our hotel, Meritus Mandarin, Orchard Rd, followed by 2nd brother and family in their car. This picture is cutie Lee Ling, 3months old.
We had lunch at our hotel's restaurant, Pine Court. 2nd bro has triplets, and this is the eldest, named Jun Heng.

2nd eldest, the pretty Yan Ling.
And the youngest of the triplet, cutie Fong Ling.
After lunch, we went to our room for a quick nap. Took a picture of our room. Such a nice room and I just loved the pillows and the big mirror. Around 4pm, we took a cab to 2nd bro's house at Jurong West.
This is taken outside our room. After we visited 2nd bro, we took a cab back to our hotel and had dinner at Ngee Ann City's food court.
After dinner, dear dear and I explored Ngee Ann City. I came across LV shop and there were people queueing up to get in! Inside was full of people. We wondered whether they were having a sales, but the sales person told us that the shop is always full of people..wow...

Around 9pm, Queenie came to meet us. We went to Starbucks, just opposite the road from our hotel. It was great to see her..Thanks for the drinks, dear bb..
